Environment

  • Environmental Policy

    • Put every additional penny raised from green taxes into tackling green issues
    • Ensure that smart meters are installed in every home
    • A “Green Deal” scheme which would give every householder the right to up to £6500 energy efficiency improvements paid back through energy savings
    • RECYCLING POLICY
      • Provide incentives for people to recycle
      • Ensure that everyone actually has a green wheelie bin as many do not
      • Large mixed recycling bins for all flats
      • All bins will be clearly labelled so you know what you can put in them
      • New split street litter bins with a capacity for normal rubbish and recycling
      • Issue green recycling sacks to all households with clear instructions printed upon them
      • Reduce charges to businesses for their trade recycling to encourage them to invest in making more of their waste recyclable
